More interestingly, Terence McKenna had a theory that the mushroom spore traveled inter-galactic to our planet. I assumed when I heard in my biology class that there are virtually no mushroom fossils on the planet dating pre-Tertiary period, that Tmk knew this. Apparently we didn't find this information out until 2004 at the earliest...
The end of the Cretaceous period-->Tertiary period is the marked by the end of Dinosaurs on this planet...also known as the k/t boundary (or mass extinction), it is thought to have been brought on by asteroid impacts. Evidence for asteroid impact: large amounts of Iridium on the planet, which wasn't there before, impact sites and shocked quartz

i just signed on to post this dinosaur
http://www.un.org/apps/news/
story.asp?NewsID=25859&Cr=cereal&Cr1=
there was that planet earth where the fungus took out the ant colonies when they grew too big
and in a way they do us in when we do too big, but its not physical with the ants
this is an interesting idea no doubt, and whether or not the dinosaurs were done in or not, fungus is too strange...if it takes the ants out by physical force, and takes us out of our minds it seems intelligent in a way you know...like it says fuck you ants you're trying to hard but since you're not conscious we're just gonna trim...it says hey humans you're trying to hard, remember this...remember this...
check out that article tho man
its a trip...thanks for posting
