A brief history of hemp and the USA is found in this article. So many of our environmental problems could be solved with the aid of increased hemp production for everything from diet protein and fatty acids, to clothing, to bio-degradable plastics, to fuel to medicine and of course entertainment. But as so many other things, it is not "profitable" in the short term as compared to deforestation and petroleum. So, what else is new.... dollars = sense. Great article tho.
