Cool Geology

Impact crater off the coast of England in the North Sea. The asteroid was 200 to 500 meters (660 to 1700 feet) across and estimated to have impacted the Earth 60 to 65 million years ago. The crater is 3 kilometers (almost 2 miles) wide and 300 meters (almost 1000 feet) deep!!
The color image is a 3D seismic image of the crater.
